Daniel James girlfriend: Meet the blonde BEAUTY dating Man Utd's first summer signing
DANIEL JAMES could become Manchester United’s first summer signing but who is the Wales wizard and does he have a girlfriend? Express Sport introduces the Premier League’s newest star.
As he prepares for a move to Manchester United that could be worth £18 million, Wales starlet Daniel James is known for more than blistering speed and clinical crossing by those closest to him.
The spectacular young talent spends lots of time on the phone to his mum and takes a ribbing for having a perm, according to the team-mates he looks set to leave behind.
James was a youngster at Hull but moved to Swansea and quickly established himself as one of the brightest rising players in British football after a string of dazzling first-team displays.
His dad, who is from the Welsh town of Aberdare, watched on proudly as his son made his first start for Wales when Ryan Giggs’ side travelled to Albania at the end of 2018.
The in-demand prospect said: “I knew my mum, dad and family were watching on TV and were proud of me.
“My dad texted me earlier in the day saying he’d nearly been crying. It was a proud moment for me.”
The puppy, Hugo, was a birthday present to remember from Ria to Daniel when he turned 21 last November.
James admitted: “I’d been asking my missus for a while and she kept saying no. She was saving it for my birthday surprise.
“It was a weird one - she still thinks I knew about it but I had no clue.”
She spelled out the words “happy birthday Daniel” above the sofa where their dog was sitting, surrounded by silver and blue balloons.
James and Hughes are huge animal lovers. Shortly after breaking through at Swansea, James walked dogs at an RSPCA centre in Swansea in a bid to raise awareness of animal welfare across south-west Wales.
He was clearly emotional after seeing the puppy for the first time, but it was Hughes who admitted to being in tears after James scored on his home debut for Wales in March.
The goal gave Wales a vital 1-0 win against Slovakia in the European Qualifiers in front of almost 32,000 people at the Cardiff City Stadium.
