Luke Mabbott was seen accusing would-be love interest Demi Jones of giving him 'mixed signals' on Tuesday's Love Island after the arrival of new boy Jamie Clayton.
The unlucky-in-love Justin Bieber lookalike, 24, appeared to be on the verge of his luck changing for the better as he and Demi, 21, were seen getting cosy on Monday.
But when Demi returned from her date with bombshell Jamie the following day, she confessed to Luke that she was willing to get to know the dating show's newest recruit - before sharing a passionate kiss with an exasperated Luke.
Immediately after their kiss, Luke was seen laughing as he told Demi she was giving him 'mixed signals', before speaking with his best pal Luke Trotman and Siânnise Fudge about the potential love triangle he was on the verge of entering.
Earlier in the episode, Jamie enjoyed wine-tasting dates with Demi and Shaughna Phillips, before he was brought back to the villa and introduced to the Islanders.
And as the night wore on, a visibly nervous Luke pulled Demi to one side to enquire how their date had gone, prompting her to admit: 'I did have fun on the date today.

'He’s a really nice boy. He's quite mature. He knows what he wants… He said he’s going to equally get to know everyone.'
'Obviously, I was a bit nervous, because we’ve been getting to know each other these past couple of days,' Luke M confessed.
'He’s an attractive boy and he’s go a lot of personality,' Demi continued, before telling him: 'I am interested in getting to know Jamie. It would be silly if I didn’t, but at the same time, I can’t nip [our potential relationship] in the bud at the moment.'
In an attempt to get Luke M to see things from her perspective, Demi suggested that he would be interested 'if a girl walked in at the moment', but he stood firm.
Referring to Jess Gale being snatched away from him by Mike Boateng and Natalia Zoppa telling him she had no sexual chemistry with him after he brought her back from Casa Amor, Luke M insisted he didn't want to play second fiddle.
He told her: 'There’s been two situations where I've been in triangles and second best. I don't want that again.'
For her part, Demi has earlier admitted that she didn't want to put all of her eggs in one basket again, so soon after Nas Majeed deserting her for Eva Zapico during Casa Amor week.
She said: 'Obviously at this stage, I don’t want to be invested… But if Jamie wants to pull me for a chat, I'm going to be open to that.'
